About Active Release Technique® (ART®)
Active Release Technique® in Halifax and Dartmouth
Active Release Technique (ART®) is a hands-on, state-of-the-art soft tissue technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. ART® can treat a wide variety of conditions throughout the body relatively quickly — and often permanently.
ART® has been successful for professional and amateur athletes, people injured in auto accidents or at work, and people who just work hard and hurt!
ART® practitioners evaluate the texture, tightness, and relative movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, and nerves and treat the damaged tissues using only their hands. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed manual tension with very specific, active patient movements. These treatment protocols — over 500 moves — are unique to ART®.
Only a credentialed ART® provider can ascertain whether ART® might prove beneficial for your condition. ART® credentialing requires the completion of coursework, examinations, and approximately two years of hands-on experience with patients. Providers must attend annual seminars to maintain their status and stay informed of any new protocols.
ART® is administered by our chiropractors and physiotherapists, and is covered by your private health care plan.
