Michael Monks, PT Halifax Clinic
(he/him) Originally from Newfoundland, Michael completed both his Bachelor of Kinesiology (honours) degree and Master of Science in Kinesiology degree at Memorial University in 2014 and 2016, respectfully. During that time, he was involved in clinical research which developed his interest in clinical care through physical activity and exercise. He went on to complete his Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in 2018. After graduation, Michael went on to work in paediatrics, long term care, as well as private practice. Now he works full time in private practice, helping people of all ages to achieve their goals.
Since his Physiotherapy graduation, Michael has taken post-graduation courses in functional dry needling, manual therapy courses, pain management strategies for people with chronic low back pain, and movement impairment syndromes. Currently, Michael is working towards completing his dry needling certificate, his manual therapy levels, and would someday like to take courses for community programs.
Michael enjoys staying active through hiking, running, going to the gym, and yoga. He also enjoys baking cupcakes, cakes, and sugar cookies, as well as, playing video games in his down time.
